Lucy and Mum’s Shoes comes alive with sound in new audio book!
Everyone knows I’m a sucker for a good children’s book. So imagine by delight when Imagnary House sent me a copy of Lucy and Mum’s Shoes last year to try on.
Lucy and Mum’s Shoes: a vibrant splash of colours and sound
From the imagination of Emily Child comes a story of a little girl who loves different sounds, especially the clickety-clack of her mum’s red stilettos.
Lucy decides to try on her mum’s shoes, but when she wears them to school she’s in for a surprise or two.
I love how Warwick Kay brings the story to life with bright, beautiful colours. Even before the story became an audio book, you could almost hear the sounds of the story through his pictures. The yellows and reds and pretty, pretty blues make the story sing as little Lucy tries new things in her world!
And now, Imagnary House and Calvin Davey have given the story another dimension by turning it into an audio book. Children will love this story of a little girl and her experience of the world around her.
Here’s a little teaser:

About Imagnary House
Imagnary House is a publisher and bookstore of creative children’s and YA fiction and non-fiction in South Africa.
We’re a boutique publisher and bookstore with a special focus on local children’s and YA literature, as we have a heart for children’s literacy and imaginations in Southern Africa.
We were founded in April 2016 by Brad Harris, who built the premise of Imagnary House on the back of his experience working with traditional publishers and self-publishing agents. Noticing a hole left in Africa for children’s and YA literature, he focused his own literary passion towards this end… enter, Imagnary House.
One day, we hope to make the children’s books that we love available in every part of our beautiful country. We believe that enjoying the ability to read is the right of a child from all languages, areas, cultures, and backgrounds.

We operate under The Imagnary Collective (2015/119550/07) in Cape Town, South Africa.
